2nd European CNC-Educators Conference takes place in Nantes
90 people with a heart for CNC education assembled in Nantes to network, learn new technologies and discuss best-practices in CNC education.
On 18 and 19 October 90 people with a heart for CNC education came together in Nantes for the second European CNC-Educators conference. The overlapping message across most presentations was that in a manufacturing industry that gets more complex and more technologically advanced it is essential to give future CNC-machinists, technicians and engineers an education that reflects these developments.
To do this, schools need well-qualified teachers, get modern equipment in and should look into innovative ways to attract, motivate and teach students.
Participants could take workshops by Blaser, Esprit, Haas, Hainbuch, Keller, Mastercam, Sandvik-Coromant and Topsolid.
On the second day participants visited the factory of Haas customer Airbus in Saint-Nazaire. Here Airbus assembles amongst others the A-380 Airbus, the world’s largest passenger plane.
The conference ended on the 19th with a festive lunch at the Lycée des Métiers Sainte-Anne in Saint-Nazaire.
The next European CNC Educators Conference will take place in 2018.
