Mini Mill-EDU – Further revolutionizing CNC Education
The Mini Mill, a compact vertical CNC machining center from Haas Automation, Inc., is now available in Europe in a special education-edition, exclusively for schools. The new Haas Mini Mill-EDU is built with the same high-quality components, and is available starting at €18,995.
The Haas Mini Mill-EDU features the Mini Mill’s heavy-duty steel base, a standard Haas 40-taper 4000-rpm spindle for cutting both lightweight and heavy-duty metals, a work envelope of 406 x 305 x 254mm, 7.6m/min rapids, shatter-resistant multi-layer windows, and a fully enclosed sheet metal top – all for industrial manufacturing capability and full student safety.
In addition, the Mini Mill-EDU includes the new industrial-duty Haas Next Generation Control (NGC). The control uses industry-standard, easy-to-learn and easy-to-teach G-code programming. The included HaasConnect feature allows teachers to monitor the operating status of the machine via email and SMS text notifications. Available options include macros, rigid tapping, the Haas Visual Programming System, and more.
“We see in manufacturing education an increasingly downward pressure on available budgets,” says Simon Vanmaekelbergh, Educational Partnership Coordinator for Haas Automation Europe. “However, for continued growth, the economy needs young and highly skilled manufacturing talent. This new Haas Mini Mill-EDU is one of our answers to both challenges. Now, educators will be able to offer their students an industrial CNC experience within the classroom at an unbeatable price."
"The Haas Mini Mill has always been the ideal learning tool,” Mr. Vanmaekelbergh continues. “With this new education edition, a compact CNC machine is now made really affordable for schools to start a new engineering program or upgrade an existing one.”
